Position Summary:

Provide excellent service to all guests at Slater’s 50/50

Major Responsibilities:

Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Be able to build rapport with guests, have a constant smile, keep a positive attitude, and take the initiative to stay busy and contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.
  • Greet and welcome guests; take and serve drink orders from guests and serving staff; take and serve food orders.
  • Be completely competent with POS system.
  • Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of bar, following standard recipes: Mixes ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to guests’ excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading guests to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.
  • Have knowledge of beers served, and memorize original libations recipes.
  • Advise when the order or requisition of liquors, beers and supplies etc., are required prior to exhausting on-hand supply.
  • May tend service bar and be designated Service Bartender.
  • Keep assigned section and entire work area neat and clean including bussing tables, wiping tables and chairs, sweeping/cleaning floors and rugs, wiping down the bar- top, cleaning the tap system, cleaning the entire bar area.
  • Deliver bill to guest, collect payments, and are responsible for turning payments over to Slater’s 50/50.
  • Control the use of promotions, compensations, and discounts with each of their guests, accurately recording and submitting all correct receipts.
  • Understand all dining area and kitchen service procedures.
  • Be aware of, and abide by all Slater’s 50/50 policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Report to the General Manager, and other supervisors as directed.
  • Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive display.
  • Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
  • May slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
  • Provide guests with any and all items needed while visiting Slater’s 50/50.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
  • Clock in and out as required by your shift and take breaks as required by policy.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
  • Have extensive knowledge of the current menu.

Essential Requirements:

  • Adequate skills and experience to perform job duties
  • Food handlers card
  • Certified Beer Server – Cicerone
  • Able to stand for 8 hours - walks and stands during entire shift.
  • Able to communicate with team members
  • Able to understand and follow all policies and procedures
  • Able to lift and carry racks or stacks of dishes, glassware and other
  • Able to change a keg
  • Able to frequently bend, stoop, reach, push and lift.
  • Frequent washing of hands.
